Julienne’s story is one of resilience, purpose, and full-circle giving. 💙 “When I was first paralyzed, I had two babies at home. A year later, my husband left, and I had to find a way to support my family,” Julienne shares. “A grant for an accessible van changed everything—it led to a job, a new career, and a lifelong passion for serving the disability community.” Now, 25 years later, Julienne brings her experience, knowledge, and heart to the Cal Rehab Foundation’s Enabling Independence Program. “As a wheelchair user myself, I know how vital the right resources are. I’m honored to be part of a team that doesn’t just hand out funding—we work thoughtfully to find the right solutions for each person’s unique needs.” Julienne’s leadership, compassion, and lived experience make a lasting impact—not only on our applicants, but on our entire community. “In my time as Ms. Wheelchair California, I dreamed of nonprofits working together.
